Former Senator Chafee Should Apologize to Governor Palin

Statement of former U.S. Rep. Charles F. Bass, President of RMSP

(Washington, D.C.) – “Yesterday, former U.S. Senator – and former Republican – Lincoln Chafee (RI) attacked Governor Sarah Palin at a forum in Washington, DC. Senator Chafee’s comments, referring to Governor Palin as a ‘cocky, wacko’ are reprehensible. Senator Chafee should immediately apologize to Governor Palin. This election should be about issues, not about school yard insults.

Republicans of all stripes – including centrist Republicans – are strongly united behind Senator McCain and Governor Palin and their reformist agenda. We at the Republican Main Street Partnership remain committed to ending the bitter, hyper-partisanship that has poisoned Washington for far too long, and we look forward to working with a McCain/Palin administration to find real solutions to the challenges that face our nation.”
