(Washington, D.C.) - "Today we are not Democrats or Republicans, today we are Americans. The peaceful transfer of power from one administration to another is an incredible reminder of the strength and vitality of our American democracy.

The inauguration of President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden marks a new page being turned in the history of our great nation. While we have a new President, a new Vice President, and a new administration, much remains the same. The challenges facing our nation yesterday remain today. In order to find solutions to these challenges, we need a real bipartisan commitment from members of the House, the Senate, and the new Administration.
