(Washington, D.C.) – The Republican Main Street Partnership is proud to announce that John Billings has been hired as the organization’s Executive Director. “John brings a solid Hill and policy background to Main Street,” said current President and CEO of the Partnership and former U.S. Representative Charles F. Bass (R-NH). “We are confident that John will play a key role in promoting and advancing Main Street’s centrist agenda.”
A native of New Milford, Connecticut, Billings is a graduate of Dartmouth College. Prior to coming to Washington, DC, Billings worked as a trader for a small securities firm.
Most recently, John served as a Policy Advisor to Congressman Mark Kirk (R-IL). Billings previously served as the Policy Director for Congressman Bass from 2002 to 2006.
During his time with Congressman Kirk, Billings primarily focused on healthcare, education and promoting the issues and accomplishments of the Suburban Agenda caucus. Additionally, he worked closely with the Tuesday Group, a group of House moderates, which Kirk co-chairs. As Congressman Bass’ Policy Director, Billings worked on education, healthcare and commerce related issues for the Energy and Commerce Committee, in addition to overseeing the Congressman’s legislative agenda.
“Main Street looks forward to continuing our work to build a pragmatic, thoughtful, inclusive and fiscally conservative governing majority,” concluded Bass.
